I've been working with animals my whole life. I started in 4-H with my childhood labrador, learning all about agility and obedience. As a kid, I always enjoyed watching Crufts on YouTube, dreaming of the day I'd have my own border collie I could do agility and flyball with. Also during my time in 4-H, I worked with horses, cows, pigs, and rabbits. I'm a stereotypical farm girl who just loves working with animals. When it was time to get a job, it only made sense that I worked at kennels and doggie daycares.
In 2021 it finally happened, I got my dream border collie puppy. I was so excited to do all the things with him! Shortly after getting Jetson, I started working at The Doggie Paddle. Working at a dock facility opened up soo many doors for me, because of the clients I worked with, we were able to be introduced to disc, which then introduced us to flyball, which then introduced me to my kennel club, and the rest is history!
There's nothing I enjoy more than working with my dogs. Helping others with their dogs is a close second, though! Teaching and assisting a wide variety of classes at Winnegamie Dog Club has been incredibly rewarding and has taught my how to be a better trainer for my own dogs as well as a better instructor.
I have recently relocated to the Des Moines, IA area and hope to continue to grow and expand my teaching capabilities!
I am always looking for new ways to connect with students and expand my own knowledge! I am hoping to offer classes and a wider variety of lessons in the future, so stay tuned!
