Kim Jiwoong (김지웅) + Zhang Hao (장하오)

• Mathyungz (맏형즈) - Mathyung (맏형) means the oldest brother, they are the oldest members. 

• WoongHao (웅하오) - A combination of JiWoong(지웅) and Zhang Hao(장하오).

• Matnaez (맏내즈) - They're the mathyungs(맏형)/oldest of the group, who sometimes act like they're the maknaes(막내)/youngest.

• Eosaz (어사즈) - Basically "awkwardz", this was used a bit after Boys Planet because the two said they had only talked to each other 2 times up to that point. 

• Woongjangz (웅장즈) - A combination of Jiwoong(지웅) and Zhang Hao(장하오), with Jang being an alternate way to romanize Zhang. 

Kim Jiwoong (김지웅) + Sung Hanbin (성한빈)

• WoongSungz (웅성즈) - A combination of JiWoong(지웅) and Sung Hanbin(성한빈).

Kim Jiwoong (김지웅) + Seok Matthew (석매튜)

• Ppusamz (뿌삼즈) - During the preparation of the Dual Position Battle on Boys Planet, Matthew described Love Killa as having a "ppuppuppu" during the dance break, and Jiwoong copies the phrase afterward. Ppu(뿌) for the sound and Sam(삼) meaning three, so it's just Ppu 3 times, Ppuppuppu. 

• MattWoong - A combination of Matthew and JiWoong.

• Ppuppuz - A ppusamz alternative. 

Kim Jiwoong (김지웅) + Kim Taerae (김태래)

• Mehddakz (멯딱즈) - A combination between Meh(멯), a part of a nickname used for Taerae because of an expression he often makes (or it refers to how his face is softer), and Ddak (딱) "sharp/stiff", for Jiwoong because of his visuals. 

  • Taerae talks about their full nicknames during the Debut Show Behind.

• WoongRae - A combination of JiWoong and TaeRae.

Kim Jiwoong (김지웅) + Ricky (리키)

• Minamz (미남즈) - Minam(미남) means handsome man. Miin(미인) meaning beauty and namja(남자) meaning man. I believe this one is self-explanatory. 

  • This name was mentioned during their Dope Club appearance. 

Kim Jiwoong (김지웅) + Kim Gyuvin (김규빈)

• Gwajaz (과자즈) - Gwaja(과자) means snack. During Boys Planet, Gyuvin showed Jiwoong that his luggage was half filled with snacks and Jiwoong told him he should just "change his name to Kim Gwaja" because of all of the snacks he brought. 

Kim Jiwoong (김지웅) + Park Gunwook (박건욱)

• WoongGunz - Combination of JiWoong(지웅) and GunWook(건욱). 

• Gongjuz (공주즈) - Gongju(공주) means princess. During the "Protect the Princess" game on the Boys Planet sports day, they were the princesses for their respective teams. 

• Gunjipokpung/GunjiStorm (건지폭풍) - A combination of GunWook(건욱), JiWoong(지웅), and the Korean word for storm(폭풍). It's a reference to the Korean meme "Ganzi Storm" (간지폭풍), which it sounds similar to and is one vowel off from. It can also be used as slang for something cool. 

Kim Jiwoong (김지웅) + Han Yujin (한유진)

• Sambokz (삼복즈) - This is a combination of samgyeopsal(삼겹살) meaning 'pork belly', which Jiwoong put as a hashtag to express him on his BP charm chart, and boksunga(복숭아) meaning 'peach', which Yujin put as a hashtag to express him on his BP charm chart. 

• MatMakz/MadMakz (맏막즈) - Combines Mathyung(맏형) or the "oldest" and Maknae(막내) or "youngest". They are the oldest and youngest of the group respectively. 

Zhang Hao (장하오) + Sung Hanbin (성한빈)

• Centerz (센터즈) - During Boys Planet, they were the respective G group and K group centers during "Here I Am". 

• HaoBin (하오빈) - A combination of Zhang Hao(장하오) and Hanbin(한빈).

Zhang Hao (장하오) + Seok Matthew (석매튜)

• Heartz (하튜즈) - It's a combination of Hao(하오) and Matthew(매튜), to make HaTyu, which sounds like a cuter way to say the English word "Heart(하트)" in Korean. 

Zhang Hao (장하오) + Kim Taerae (김태래)

• Julyz - They were both born in July, Hao on the 25th and Taerae on the 14th. 

• HaoRae - A combination of Zhang Hao and TaeRae.

• HaTaeHaTae(하태하태) - Combines Hao(하오) and Taerae(태래). 

• Ohraez (오래즈) - Combines Hao(하오) and Taerae(태래). 

Zhang Hao (장하오) + Ricky (리키)

• Hariboz (하리보즈) - A combination of Hao(하오) and Ricky(리키), with bo added to reference the gummy brand Haribo. 

Zhang Hao (장하오) + Kim Gyuvin (김규빈)

• JjangGyuz (짱규즈) - A Combination of Zhang Hao(장하오) and Gyuvin(규빈). Jjang(짱) can be slang for "best" or "cool", Hao's surname Zhang(장) sounds very similar to and is one away from consonant from it, he often uses this for wordplay. 

Zhang Hao (장하오) + Park Gunwook (박건욱)

• GunHao - A combination of Gunwook and Zhang Hao. 

• GunJangz (건장즈) - A combination of Gunwook(건욱) and Zhang Hao(장하오), with Jang being another way to romanize Zhang(장).  

Zhang Hao (장하오) + Han Yujin (한유진)

• Luckyz (행운즈) - They have a 7-year age gap, and 7 is considered a lucky number. 

Sung Hanbin (성한빈) + Seok Matthew (석매튜) 

• Jakkkungz (작꿍즈) - Jakkkung(짝꿍) can have a few different but similar meanings, in this context it means partner/best friend. During the Boys Planet 'Best Mate Contest', Matthew asked what the work Jakkkung meant, someone answered "best friend" and Hanbin said, "Like us".

• 짝꿍(Jjakkkung) is the correct spelling but here 작꿍(Jakkkung) is used because of Matthews pronunciation when asking and to not overlap with other fandoms' chemi names. 

Sung Hanbin (성한빈) + Kim Taerae (김태래)

• Cheonanz (천안즈) - They are both from the city of Cheonan. 

• Driverz (드라이버즈) - During CAMP ZEROBASEONE,  they both drove one of the camper vans.  

Sung Hanbin (성한빈) + Ricky (리키)

• CatNyangz (캣냥즈) - Cat(캣) + Nyang(냥), which is the Korean equivalent of "meow". They both resemble cats, however, they give off different cat energies. 

Sung Hanbin (성한빈) + Kim Gyuvin (김규빈)

• 2Binz (투빈즈) - Both members have 'bin'(빈) in their name. Hanbin(한빈) and Gyuvin(규빈). 

Sung Hanbin (성한빈) + Park Gunwook (박건욱)

• GeoniHani (거니하니) - Combines Gunwook(건욱) and Hanbin(한빈), adding ni/니 to the end of each to make it cuter. 

• Gunsungz - Combines Gunwook and Sung Hanbin.

Sung Hanbin (성한빈) + Han Yujin (한유진)

• Hambokz (햄복즈) - Combines hamcat(햄냥이) or just hamster(햄스터), which are nicknames for Hanbin, and peach/boksunga(복숭아), which is a nickname for Yujin. 

Seok Matthew (석매튜) + Kim Taerae (김태래)

• Bbangiz/02z (빵이즈) - They were both born in 02. With bbang(빵) being a slang way to say 0 and I(이) being 2.

• Chip & Dale (칩앤데일) - After the two Disney chipmunk characters which many compare them to.

  • Matthew and Taerae took a cute picture with a Chip 'n' Dale balloon!

Seok Matthew (석매튜) + Ricky (리키)

• Digimonz (디지몬즈) - In the Korean ver. of the anime Digimon Adventure, there are two characters named Matthew and Ricky. 

• Mayz - They were both born in May, Ricky on the 20th and Matthew on the 28th.

• Maeri Kiristmashu(매리 키리슈마슈) - On Gyuvins 🫧 he said Taerae wrote Merry Christmas(메리 크리스마스), changed to include Matthew(매튜), Ricky(리 키), and the Japanese pronunciation of Matthew, Mashu(마슈).

• Kkyutez/KkyuTyuz(뀨튜즈) - Combines Gyuvin(규빈), changed to Kkyu(뀨) to make it cuter, and Matthew(매튜). It sounds like a cuter way to say the English word 'cute' in Korean. These two are a cute duo.

• Mattvin - Combines Matthew and Gyuvin. 

Seok Matthew (석매튜) + Park Gunwook (박건욱)

• MattParkz (맽박즈) - A combination of Matthew(매튜) and Park Gunwook(박건욱).

• Heungsaz (흥사즈) - Short for "흥미로운 사이/Heungmiroun sai" basically meaning "interesting relationship". Gunwook often thinks of/looks at Matthew as an interesting person and vice versa. 

• MattWook - A combination of Matthew and Gunwook.

Seok Matthew (석매튜) + Han Yujin (한유진)

• Tyuyuz (튜유즈) - A combination between Matthew(매튜) and Yujin(유진), with Tyu being another way to romanize 튜/thew.

• uyuz/milkz(우유즈) - Combines Matthews Korean name Woohyun(우현) and Yujin(유진). Uyu(우유) means milk. 

Kim Taerae (김태래) + Ricky (리키)

• RiRae - A combination between Ricky and TaeRae.

• TaeRikTaeRik Change (태맄태맄 체인지) - Combines Taerae(태래) and Rik/Rick(맄). This references the manga "My Guardian Characters/Character Character Change (캐릭캐릭 체인지)" which it is a few consonants off from and sounds similar to. 

Kim Taerae (김태래) + Kim Gyuvin (김규빈)

• Gyurae - Combines Gyuvin and Taerae. 

• Puppyz(댕댕즈) - 댕댕/ddaengddaeng is a common way to refer to puppies, they both resemble puppies. 

• KimMuttz/Kim(poop)puppyz (김똥개들) - A combination of Kim (김) because they have the same surname and 똥개들 (Literally "poop dogs") because of them having similar behavior/personality as a mutt. "Poop dog/puppy" is usually an affectionate term used to refer to non-purebred dogs.

  • Gyuvin has made it clear he does not like being called 똥개들/poop puppy, I am however leaving this because it was still common at a point. 

Kim Taerae (김태래) + Park Gunwook (박건욱)

• TaeGunz - Combines Taerae and Gunwook. 

• TaeGunV(태건V/태건브이) - Combines Taerae(태래) and Gunwook(건욱). Adding "V" to reference the Korean animated film "Robot Taekwon V(로보트 태권 V)", as Taekwon(태권) sounds similar to TaeGun(태건).

Ricky (리키) + Park Gunwook (박건욱)

• Nyangteolz (냥털즈) - With Nyangteol(냥털), being a way to say "Cat fur". Referencing Ricky being compared to an orange/'cheese' cat and Gunwook being compared to a black cat.

• Malangz (말랑즈) - Malang(말랑) means "soft" in Korean, they both may visually seem hard on the outside but they are very soft on the inside. 

Ricky (리키) + Han Yujin (한유진)

• Boknyangz (복냥즈) - Combines peach/boksunga(복숭아), which is a nickname for Yujin, and Nyang(냥) meaning "meow" because Ricky is commonly compared to a cat.

• Gaeteolz (개털즈) - Gaeteol(개털) means "dog fur/dog hair". Like dog fur tends to fly and get everywhere, these two when together tend to be very excitable & chaotic.

• EnButterz (앙버터즈) - During the Boys Planet artist battle, they both performed the song "En Garde", whose team name was "EnButter."

• Gyuwook - Combines Gyuvin and Gunwook. 

Kim Gyuvin (김규빈) + Han Yujin (한유진)

• Kongddakz (콩딱즈) - Combines Kong(콩) meaning bean and Kkeomdakji(껌딱지) referring to the idea of two people being "stuck together like gum." The "bin(빈)" in Gyuvin sounds similar to the word bean, the Korean word for bean is kong(콩).

Park Gunwook (박건욱) + Han Yujin (한유진)

• Maknaez (막내즈) - Maknae(막내) means youngest. They are the youngest members of the group. 

• Somteolz (솜털즈) - "Fluffyz". Again, because they are the youngest of the group, so they're fluffy/soft babies. 

WoongJangHan (웅장한) - Kim Jiwoong + Zhang Hao + Sung Hanbin

• WoongJangHan(웅장한) means Magnificent. It's a combination of Jiwoong(지웅), Zhang Hao(장하오), and Hanbin(한빈).

Paraglidez (패러글라이딩즈) - Kim Jiwoong + Zhang Hao + Kim Taerae

• During CAMP ZEROBASEONE, these members all took part in the paragliding rose mission.

Manhwaz/Manhuaz - Kim Jiwoong + Zhang Hao + Ricky

• These members are often described as looking "straight out of a manhwa."

Interpolz - Kim Jiwoong + Zhang Hao + Kim Gyuvin

• These members were present for Zhang Haos' 2023 Birthday live, where Hao's iconic "INTERPOL INTERPOL, INTERNATIONAL POLICE" meme began.

Alpacaz (알파카즈) - Kim Jiwoong + Sung Hanbin + Ricky 

• During CAMP ZEROBASEONE, these members all fed alpacas for a rose mission.

Sudolz (슈돌즈) - Kim Jiwoong + Sung Hanbin + Kim Gyuvin

• Sudol(슈돌) refers to the show "Return of the Superman(슈퍼맨이 돌아왔다)". During a Baby Cloud episode, that featured these 3, they were brainstorming names for their trio and Jiwoong suggested Sudols. 

  • Hanbin suggested Yugaz/Parentingz(육아즈), and Gyuvin suggested "Kim Gyuvin, Sung Hanbin, and...(김규빈과 성한빈과)", teasingly excluding Jiwoong. 

Dkillaz (D킬라즈/디킬라즈)- Kim Jiwoong + Seok Matthew + Kim Gyuvin

• During the Boys Planet "Dual Position Battle", these members all performed Monsta X's 'Love Killa'. The name of their team was "DKilla (D킬라)." 

KimBros (김형제) - Kim Jiwoong + Kim Taerae + Kim Gyuvin

• All three members share the surname "Kim".

ZeDeepz (제깊즈) - Kim Jiwoong + Ricky + Kim Gyuvin

• This is a name Zhang Hao made during the "ROMANTIC CROWN Shooting Behind", saying that these members all have deep visuals. 

Visualz - Zhang Hao + Sung Hanbin + Ricky

• These three took a 4-cut photo during Boys Planet where Zhang Hao said they were visuals. 

Hao2bin/"Heartbeat" (하오투빈) - Zhang Hao + Sung Hanbin + Kim Gyuvin

• Used during the 2024 FAN-CON in Japan. Combines Hao(하오) and Hanbin & Gyuvins chemi name 2Binz(투빈즈).

TomBoyz (톰보이즈) - Zhang Hao + Sung Hanbin + Park Gunwook

• During the dual position battle on Boys Planet, these members all performed (G)I-DLE's Tomboy. 

Angtalz (앙탈즈) - Zhang Hao + Sung Hanbin + Han Yujin

• Angtal(앙탈) means "pout/whine". During the Boys Planet Pajama Party, Yujin said Hao acts very cute when he's upset and the three of them recreate it. 

• Familyz (패밀리즈) - Because the three resemble a family. Alternatively, during pre-debut days, there was light-hearted debate over who Yujins' were parents within the group, with Hanbin and Hao being a main choice at the time. 

• ZeViz (제비즈) - This is a name Zhang Hao makes during the "ROMANTIC CROWN Shooting Behind", combining ZEROBASEONE (제로베이스원) and visuals(비주얼). 

Custodyz - (1) Kim Jiwoong + Zhang Hao + Han Yujin OR (2) Kim Jiwoong + Sung Hanbin + Seok Matthew

• (1) During the pre-debut days, there was debate about who were Yujins' parents within the group, with Jiwoong & Hao being a main alternative to Hao and Hanbin. Thus beginning the Jiwoong, Hanbin, and Hao custody battle.

• (2) During the first Boys Planet elimination, when announcing the top 3, these three were holding hands with Matthew in the middle and someone said it looked like Jiwoong and Hanbin were waiting for the judge to announce custody. 

BabyGirlz - Zhang Hao + Seok Matthew + Kim Taerae (+ Ricky)

• They're babygirls...

  • In an Instagram live, Matthew mentioned babygirlz and Taerae asked what it meant, so Matthew said that it's about how they act... very babygirl. 

  • This unit was originally the 3 but, some include Ricky as a member now too!

Globalz (글로벌즈) - Zhang Hao + Seok Matthew + Ricky

• They are the foreign members of ZB1 and were a part of the G (global) Group during Boys Planet. Zhang Hao and Ricky are from China and Matthew is from Canada. 

KillThisLovez/KillThiz (킬디즈) - Zhang Hao + Seok Matthew + Park Gunwook

• During the Boys Planet K vs. G mission, these members all performed Blackpink's "Kill This Love". Hao and Matthew for G Group and Gunwook for K Group. 

• JellyPopz (젤리팝즈) - For the Boys Planet finale, these members all performed "Jelly Pop."

Thewbinz (튜빈즈) - Sung Hanbin + Seok Matthew + Kim Gyuvin

• Hanbin and Gyuvins chemi name, 2binz, replacing the '2' with 'Thew', as they sound similar.

Bitsamz - Sung Hanbin + Kim Gyuvin + Han Yujin

• "Three people who shine." Combines bit(빛), meaning shine/light, and sam(삼), meaning 3. Based on pieces of their hanja names. 

Kayakz - Sung Hanbin + Ricky + Kim Gyuvin

• During CAMP ZEROBASEONE, this team all did the kayak rose mission in Jeju.

• Hongcheon Namulz/Hongcheon Greens(홍천나물즈) - During CAMP ZEROBASEONE these 3 did vegetable harvesting during a rose mission, with Honcheon being the county they were in. It was used in a subtitle referring to them then. 

Ppokkodeong (뽀꼬덩) - Sung Hanbin + Park Gunwook + Han Yujin

• It is a combination of Yujin's fetal name Ppodol(뽀돌), Gunwook's fetal name Kkomul(꼬물), and Hanbin's fetal name Deong(덩). Created when they MC'd MCOUNTDOWN together.

  • Fetal names are what their parents called them before they were born.

ZeBaz (제베즈) - Seok Matthew + Kim Taerae + Park Gunwook

• This is a name made by Zhang Hao during the "ROMANTIC CROWN Shooting Behind", saying they are ZEROBASEONE's baby team. 

• Garagez - Starting in the pre-debut era, there was a commonly used AU where the 3 were working in a car garage.

MaeRiYu/"Marry you" (매리유) - Seok Matthew + Ricky + Han Yujin

• Used during the 2024 FAN-CON in Japan. Combines Matthew(매튜), Ricky(리키), and Yujin(유진).

GoKartz - Seok Matthew + Kim Gyuvin + Park Gunwook

• During CAMP ZEROBASEONE, these members all earned free time to ride go-karts. 

A Big Dog is Coming (큰개온다) - Kim Taerae + Kim Gyuvin + Park Gunwook

• It's a combination of Gyuvin and Gunwooks chemi name, Gaeteolz, and Taerae's hanja name 金太来, which roughly means "big one is coming". Gae = Dog.

  • Officially mentioned in their Show Champion preview. 

TaeraeShowz (태래쇼즈) - Kim Taerae + Park Gunwook + Han Yujin

• During Boys Planet, Yujin and Gunwook frequented the 'Taerae Show.' Where Taerae is the host, Gunwook was an MC, and Yujin was their main vocal. 

  • They talk about this during Boys Planet ep 13. 

Fake04z (짭04즈) - Ricky + Kim Gyuvin + Park Gunwook

• As explained by Gunwook, he is in charge of the 'fake' and Ricky & Gyuvin are in charge of the '04z.' Ricky & Gyuvin were both born in 2004. A lot of Gunwooks friends were born in 04 and since he was born in early 05, they consider him a 'fake/honorary' 04. 

  • Gunwook talks about it during Gyuvin's Birthday live. 

• Aristocatz - From fans thinking the boys act/look like the three kittens from the Disney film "The Aristocats."

• TallGodz (장신즈) - They're they are the tallest members.

Jz (J즈) - Kim Jiwoong + Sung Hanbin + Seok Matthew + Kim Taerae + Park Gunwook + Han Yujin.

• They all have J (Judgement), at the end of their MBTI's.   

• Why do so many end with "z"?

• 즈/jeu is one way to mark a word as plural, it's commonly romanized as a z rather than an s because of how it's pronounced. 

• Just in case, Dog Unionz refers to Kim Gyuvin, Kum Junhyeon(Boys Planet/TIOT), and Park Gunwook.

• What/who is 'nugu ___'? 

  • Nugu(누구) means 'Who', in this context used to refer to something/one less known.  So sometimes if the boys interact with someone outside of the group often, and their name combination overlaps with a duo in the group, the new pairing will become the 'nugu' ver. Purely for fun ofc. 

    • Example: Matthew + Hanbin = Mattbin, since Matthew and RIIZE Wonbin got close, they are now Nugu Mattbin.

    • To go even deeper down the rabbit hole, there is an exception. Nugu Haobin referred to Wang ZiHao and Park Hanbin during Boys Planet so, when TXT's Soobin and Zhang Hao became friends, they became evil Haobin. Why evil? I don't know it's just kind of funny.
