Free 30-minute Initial Consultation: I am a firm believer that the key to empowerment and growth in counseling begins with a strong relationship between you and your therapist. Therefore, I offer all new potential clients a free, 30-minute phone or in-person consultation. During this conversation, we will discuss:
What brings you to therapy
What you are looking for
My style, rates, availability
Any additional questions you may have
In the event that it doesn't seem I would be the right person for you, our schedules do not fit, or something else isn't connecting, I will absolutely help you find the therapist who is. I offer this because finding the right therapist can be daunting and an anxious endeavor; and I believe that eliminating concerns about cost can help you take the time to find the therapist with whom you are most comfortable. It never costs you anything to CONSIDER your goals. If you decide you want to work with me, my fees are as follows:
Standard Fees for Services:
Individual, Counseling and EMDR
50-Minute Sessions: $200
75-Minute Sessions: $280
90-Minute Sessions: $325
1 session: $110
(Because I want therapy to be accessible, I reserve a third of my practice for sliding scale. At this time, however, these slots are full.)
Methods of Payment: I accept Health Spending Accounts (HSA and FSA), cash, check, and major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express).
Insurance:
Although I do not accept insurance as payment for sessions, I can provide you with an itemized receipt to submit for reimbursement (usually through "out of network PPO" ). Please check with your insurance provider for questions related to coverage, since I cannot guarantee reimbursement. I am also happy to assist you in communicating with providers with your permission and will advocate for you to the best of my ability..
“No Surprises” Notice
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining
how much your medical (and psychotherapy) care will cost.
Under the law, healthcare providers need to give clients who don’t have insurance or are not using insurance (including clients who pay out-of-pocket and request insurance reimbursement) and estimate of the bill for medical items and services (including psychotherapy).
• You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services, including psychotherapy services.
• Your healthcare provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least one business day before your services begin. You can also ask your healthcare
provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.
• If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
• Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit: www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call the US department of health and human services (HHS) at (800) 368-1019.
