Mindful Launcher ("App", "we", "us", "our") is a minimalist Android launcher focused on mindful usage, accessibility features, and notification management. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our App. By using the App, you consent to the practices described herein.

1.1 Personal Information from Google Sign-In

When you choose to sign in with Google, we receive limited information through Google's OAuth 2.0 API:

• Google Account email address

• Google Account profile name

• Google Account profile picture URL (optional)

This data is used solely to create a unique user identifier for personalization and usage statistics. We do not request additional scopes beyond basic profile information.

1.2 Device and Usage Information (Required Permissions)

To provide core launcher functionality, we request the following Android permissions:

Accessibility Service:

• Usage: Monitor screen content to enable gesture navigation, app hiding, and mindful usage features

• Data collected: App usage patterns, screen content (processed locally only)

• No content is transmitted to our servers

Usage Access Permission:

• Usage: Track app usage time and screen time statistics

• Data collected: App names, foreground usage duration (local storage only)

Notification Access Permission:

• Usage: Manage notifications, grouping, and mindful notification features

• Data collected: Notification titles, app sources (processed locally)

All permission-based data is stored locally on your device in encrypted SQLite databases. No usage data leaves your device unless explicitly enabled for cloud sync (future feature).

1.3 Automatically Collected Information

• Device model, Android version, language settings

• App crash reports (anonymous)

• Analytics events (anonymized, local-first)

2. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to:

• Provide and improve core launcher functionality

• Enable personalized themes and layouts

• Generate mindful usage reports (screen time, app usage)

• Debug and fix crashes

• Personalize user experience via Google Sign-In profile

We do not use your data for advertising or sell it to third parties.

3. Information We Share

3.1 Google Sign-In Provider

Your Google profile data is handled according to Google's Privacy Policy.

3.2 Service Providers

We may share anonymized usage statistics with trusted analytics providers (PostHog) under strict data processing agreements. No personal identifiers are shared.

3.3 Legal Requirements

We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights, safety, or property.

4. Data Storage and Security

• Local Storage: All usage/accessibility/notification data stored encrypted on-device

• Cloud Storage: Google Sign-In data stored encrypted on secure servers (if sync enabled)

• Encryption: TLS 1.3 for all network transmissions

• Retention: Local data persists until app uninstall; cloud data retained 30 days post-account deletion

5. Children's Privacy

Mindful Launcher is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

7. Account Deletion

7.1 Delete Account URL (Google Play Required)

Account Deletion Process:

1. Open Mindful Launcher settings

2. Navigate to "Account" → "Delete Account"

3. Confirm deletion (requires Google Sign-In re-authentication)

4. All associated data permanently deleted within 7 days

Data Deleted: Google profile data, usage statistics, preferences. No data retained beyond 30-day verification period.

7.2 Data Deletion Without Account Deletion

Sign out from Google Sign-In in app settings. Local data remains on-device until uninstall.

8. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

California residents have additional rights. See Section 6 for exercise instructions.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this policy. Changes will be posted here with updated effective date. Continued use constitutes acceptance.
