Mechanistic Investigation of Osteoarthritis
Goal. Osteoarthritis (OA) is a chronic disease characterized by joint pain and localized inflammation, resulting in immobility and disability. It differs from other type of arthritis in the sense that it generally only affects weight bearing joints and is by far the most prevalent type of arthritis. However, there is not a single FDA-approved disease modifying drugs available. Our research group strives to investigate the pathogenesis and treatments of OA from novel angles using comprehensive approaches.
