I am passionate about dogs and exploring our beautiful backyard either on a mountain bike, on a snowboard or on foot. In 2020, I adopted my dog Feisty; my goal ever since has been to make her the best trail dog and adventure buddy I can. For me that means: a solid recall in any situation, proximity and just being a Zen Dog in general.
My years of hands-on experience working with dogs in different environments helped me develop the knowledge to offer safe, engaging and fun walk options to all dogs and peace of mind to their owners. As a dog parent myself, I recognize the importance of elevating our standards and expectations from our pet professionals in this unregulated industry.
I am currently enrolled at The Academy for Dog Trainers, am certified in Pet First Aid by Walks'N'Wags and have completed the Karen Prior Dog Trainer Foundations, alongside some shorter body language courses course.
My passion for understanding the way dogs learn sprouted when I was 12 years old and got really into dog agility with my black Labrador Sam and Lightning, a Shetland sheepdog. (I eventually even missed my high school prom for a big trial!).
It opened me up to the fantastic world of positive reinforcement without knowing it.
Eventually, my passion for snowboarding took over, forcing me to leave the Quebec hills behind and move to the beautiful Canadian Rockies. It took less than a week of me being dog-less to end up living literally in an animal rescue where I learned a valuable amount of knowledge about dog behaviour, communication and rehabilitation.
I ended up in Whistler "just for a season"...over 6 years ago.
After a few years away from the dog world, I eventually found a job as a dog walker, leading large group walks for 2 years. Then, I decided to apply for The Academy for Dog Trainers to further my understanding of dog cognition.
I am very grateful to be able to share my passion and knowledge with our amazing community.
