Abstract:
This project addresses the growing issue of collision avoidance in the oil and gas industry by automating the process of well path analysis. Using the Volve Field data and tNavigator software, the project aims to automate real-time risk assessments of well trajectories, reducing human error and improving decision-making. A Python-based program was developed to analyze survey data, providing early warnings of potential collisions to enhance safety and minimize delays. The project demonstrates how automation can improve collision avoidance, boosting safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness in drilling operations.
This is an example of using python to model well paths. This particular example is from well 15/9-F-1. Eventually all wells from the field will be input into this format and be shown in the same way.
