EP, FOUR, October 14, 2024.
The project is deeply rooted in existential themes, determinism, and predestination. Each of the four tracks—"Victor Timely," "Franklin Richards," "Doomed," and "Norrin Radd (I Am Alive)"—draws inspiration from iconic comic book narratives, intertwining their stories with Zehbrah’s personal journey of cosmic forces shaping human experience.
FOUR opens with "V ictor Timely," reflecting on themes of destiny and the tension between trying to control time and being at the mercy of it. Zehbrah reminisces on childhood folies while coming to the realization that he must control his future.
"Franklin Richards" explores themes of immense potential and power, tapping into the idea of a young individual with reality-bending abilities, struggling to find balance between control and chaos. There is also a narrative thread that highlights tension between the protagonist and his parents.
"Doomed" takes inspiration from a complex romantic relationship between two characters with shared mystic and troubled backgrounds. The track delves into love, betrayal, and the bitter realization that even genuine emotions cannot overcome deep-seated differences. It reflects the struggle between desire for power and the vulnerability of love, highlighting the pain of irreconcilable differences.
The project concludes with "Silver Surfer (I Am Alive)," inspired by a cosmic wanderer’s search for freedom and identity amidst a life of overwhelming power and responsibility. The song captures the internal conflict of an individual trapped in a role of cosmic servitude, torn between duty and personal morality. The recurring chorus, "I am alive right now," serves as a powerful affirmation of existence, despite feeling more like an instrument of fate than a living being. Themes of transformation, cosmic loneliness, and existential reflection echo throughout the track.
With FOUR, Zehbrah blends comic book-inspired narratives with deep philosophical reflections, creating an immersive exploration of existence and the forces that shape our lives.
