1. Overview The Chat Disconnection Alert extension is designed to provide audible notifications to users when their Zendesk chat session has disconnected. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring a secure user experience.
2. Data Collection and Usage * No Personal Data Collection: This extension does not collect, store, or transmit any personally identifiable information (PII), such as names, email addresses, or contact details.
Website Content: The extension uses host_permissions and scripting to monitor the user's Zendesk dashboard locally. It only reads the webpage DOM to detect the specific "Chat is disconnected" element required to trigger the alert.
Local Processing: All detection logic happens entirely within your local browser environment. No data from your Zendesk tabs is ever sent to external servers or third parties.
3. Permissions * Scripting & Host Permissions: These are used solely to identify the disconnection status on *.zendesk.com domains.
Storage: The extension uses local browser storage to save a timestamp of the last alert. This is used only to enforce a 30-second "cooldown" to prevent repetitive alerts.
Notifications: This is used to provide a visual alert if the user is in a different tab.
4. Data Security Because we do not collect or transmit data, there is no risk of your information being intercepted from our servers. Your local configuration stays on your device.
