Author biography
Zarah Dara is a Kurdish-English writer based in the UK.
Her work centres on survival, silence, and the emotional undercurrents of girlhood and womenhood.
Her debut novel, What The Quiet Knew, explores the interior world of a young girl growing up in the shadow of her mother's illness - a lyrical journey through fear, endurance, and the small, quiet moments that shape a life.
She writes to give voice to the quiet ones, to the ones who carried more than they had language for, and to the ones who are still learning how to breathe again.
When she isn't writing, she is dreaming up new stories, exploring the craft of emotional fiction, and building the worlds that once lived only in silence.
