Zara Anwarzai

I'm a Philosopher & Cognitive Scientist based in Vancouver, B.C.

Currently, I'm an Assistant Professor at Simon Fraser University. I received my PhD in Philosophy and in Cognitive Science from Indiana University Bloomington in 2024.

Most of my research focuses on the social dimension of some of the core concepts and processes studied in Philosophy and Cognitive Science, including action, skill, and intelligence. I do both theoretical and empirical research.

Some of my work focuses on union organizing, workplace harms, and collective political action. I try to bring insights from organizing into academic philosophical and scientific inquiry, then use that improved inquiry to assist ongoing organizing efforts.
