To discover devices, prepare transfers, and show progress, Zapit may temporarily process device names, local network addresses, connection capabilities, file metadata, selected file contents, package metadata for apps you choose to share, and transfer status. This processing occurs on your device or directly between participating devices.

Zapit does not create advertising profiles or collect contact lists, browsing activity, precise location, passwords, file contents for analytics, or an inventory of installed apps. The app picker reads launchable apps locally only when you open it; only packages you select are prepared for sharing.

Nearby Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, and local-network access support discovery and direct connections. Camera access is used only for QR scanning. Notification access shows active transfer status. Storage or document access is used only for locations and files you select. On older Android versions, location permission may be required by the operating system for nearby Wi-Fi discovery; Zapit marks modern nearby permissions as not used for location.

Operational diagnostics, transfer statistics, trusted-device preferences, and recovery checkpoints are stored locally. Redacted diagnostics leave the device only when you choose Export. Diagnostic exports exclude transferred payloads, private keys, passphrases, file contents, and sensitive paths.

RETENTION AND DELETION
Transfer history, settings, trusted-device records, and diagnostics remain on the device until you clear them, remove the relevant records, clear app storage, or uninstall Zapit. Temporary transfer data and checkpoints are removed after completion or cancellation when they are no longer needed.

SECURITY
Zapit authenticates connections, encrypts transfer traffic with AES-256-GCM after key agreement, and verifies completed files with SHA-256. No security system can guarantee absolute protection, so users should keep Android and Zapit updated and transfer only with devices they trust.

Zapit is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at collecting information from children. Files and app packages are exchanged only between devices chosen by users. The privacy practices of receiving devices, operating systems, and apps installed from shared packages are outside Zapit's control.
