By accessing or using Zapchat ("the App", "we", "our", or "us"), you agree to the collection, processing, and use of your information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please discontinue using the App immediately.
We are fully committed to protecting your privacy while ensuring a secure environment. This document explains how we handle your data, prioritizing data minimization and user security.
To maintain an anonymous environment, we do not require your real name, email address, or phone number. We only collect the minimum data necessary to run the service effectively.
A. Information You Provide Directly
Profile Credentials: When you launch the App, you provide a self-chosen Username, Age, and optionally, your Gender. This profile data is required to initialize and configure your user account.
User-Generated Content (UGC): We process the text messages, media, and images you transmit through the App to facilitate real-time peer-to-peer communication.
B. Information Collected Automatically
Unique Device Identifiers: We log secure hardware identifiers and operating system versions to ensure operational stability, manage device-specific settings, and deliver appropriate ad experiences.
Security & Administrative Logs (IP Addresses): To safeguard our user base against malicious activities, bullying, and server abuse, our backend systems securely log IP addresses.
Performance & Usage Metrics: We utilize crash logging tools to track software exceptions and diagnostics data to eliminate application bugs.
Note on IP Address Handling: IP logs are strictly utilized for system security, anti-spam filters, and policy enforcement. They are never shared or made accessible to other users.
Data Processing & Storage: Chat messages are processed and securely hosted via infrastructure service providers (such as Google Firebase) to enable instantaneous delivery.
Message Lifespan & Delayed Deletion: When a user terminates a chat session or requests to Delete Account, the user profile is deleted immediately. However, to comply with community safety standards, investigate active user reports, and enforce network-level bans against malicious actors, the associated chat messages and security logs are retained in a secure, isolated state for a period of 3 days (72 hours), after which they are automatically and permanently purged from our servers.
Reporting & Protection Tools: Users are equipped with native, in-app features to instantly Block and Report anyone violating community standards. Our moderation team reviews flagged activities continuously.
WARNING (Zero-Tolerance Policy): We enforce a strict zero-tolerance policy against cyberbullying, harassment, hate speech, and illegal content. Any violation will trigger immediate account suspension and a permanent hardware/network-level device ban.
We integrate trusted third-party SDKs to manage our backend architecture and maintain a free-to-use platform:
Google Firebase & Crashlytics: Used for continuous database hosting, non-identifiable backend authentication, and technical crash analysis.
Google AdMob: Used to serve advertisements. AdMob may process device advertising IDs (e.g., AAID, IDFA) to serve tailored advertising context.
EEA & UK User Consent (GDPR Compliance): For users residing in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we deploy the Google User Messaging Platform (UMP). Personalized advertisements are strictly disabled until you provide your explicit, informed consent.
We deploy collected system metrics and non-identifiable parameters to:
Operate, scale, and secure the basic communication workflows of the App.
Monitor backend logs to enforce community guidelines and filter harmful UGC.
Diagnostics troubleshooting to fix functional errors.
Serve contextual or personalized advertisements (where legally authorized).
We retain user parameters only as long as necessary to fulfill service delivery and enforce safety constraints.
The Right to Be Forgotten: You can initiate instant account erasure within the application by navigating to Settings > Privacy & Security > Delete Account. Upon confirmation, your profile data is destroyed immediately. As noted in Section 2, corresponding message logs are retained for exactly 3 days solely for moderation and anti-abuse screening before permanent deletion.
External Requests: You can also demand complete data erasure by lodging a request directly via our support email or web channels.
Our infrastructure relies on globally distributed cloud nodes managed by Google Firebase. By accessing the application, you understand and acknowledge that your encrypted, minimal traffic may be processed on servers located outside your country of residence, where jurisdiction laws might differ.
CAUTION: Access to this application is strictly restricted to individuals who are 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly interface with or collect data from minors.
Child Safety & Zero-Tolerance Policy (CSAM/CSAE): We enforce a strict, absolute zero-tolerance policy against Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) and Child Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (CSAE). We do not tolerate any form of child exploitation or harm within our community.
Enforcement & Reporting: Users can instantly report and block any inappropriate behavior or safety concerns in-app. Any user found violating child safety standards or laws will face an immediate, permanent, hardware-level and network-level device ban. Furthermore, we comply with all relevant global laws and will actively report critical child safety violations to regional and national law enforcement authorities.
If we detect that an account has bypassed our age filters and belongs to someone under the age of 18, we reserve the right to immediately purge all associated records from our servers.
