Biomolecular Archaeology ~ Palaeoproteomics ~ Human Evolution
I am an archaeological scientist with a background in both ancient proteins and DNA. Currently, I am a postdoc in the Welker Group, Globe Institute, University of Copenhagen (Denmark).
My B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees are from Umeå University (Sweden). My bachelor's studies were in biology and geosciences, whereas my master's studies focused on ecology and evolutionary biology.
My Ph.D. is from the Max Planck Institute for the Science of Human History and Friedrich Schiller University Jena (Germany), under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Christina Warinner. My doctoral research focused on developing methods for studying ancient biomolecules in archaeological dental calculus.
Currently, my research focuses on developing methods for improved access to Pleistocene skeletal proteomes. I mainly focus on laboratory methods, but also work with bioinformatic processing of palaeoproteomic datasets.
Additionally, I can be found in various types of public outreach and scientific illustration projects. I enjoy talking about research to the public in entertaining ways, as well as making science a little bit more fun and pretty by creating illustrations.
