I am an assistant professor at the Faculty of Medicine University of Belgrade (Serbia) and a board-certified specialist in pathology.

During my MD studies at the Faculty of Medicine, I was a long-term undergraduate student assistant at the Department of Histology and Embryology, where I am employed today. After completing my MD studies, I began my teaching and research career in the field of neuroscience, with a special emphasis on studying pathological and molecular changes in the hippocampus in different neurodegenerative diseases, especially Alzheimer's disease.

My main research focus is hippocampal adult neurogenesis in both animal models and human subjects. Additional research interests are medical education and the implementation of novel technologies in education, as well as open science and the use of open-access data in biomedical research.

I completed my postdoctoral training at Florida State University (USA), as a Fulbright Visiting Scholar, under the mentorship of Prof. Richard S. Nowakowski.

Besides teaching and research activities, currently working for Ibex Medical Analytics in the area of digital pathology.
