"GO Emotions!" is a therapeutic card activity designed to support clients especially autistic or non verbal individuals by helping them identify, express and understand emotions in a fun and interactive way, this resource connects directly to multicultural counseling because it acknowledges that many individuals communicate differently across cultures, abilities, and developmental backgrounds. Many clients struggle with reading social cues or labelling their own emotional states, so this game provides a visual and experimental way to learn these skills without pressure.
This idea connects to the research I reviewed, which talked about ''alert cards'' PECS systems, and how visual tools help people with autism and non-verbal individuals communicate more confidently and effectively . These studies showed that the picture based communication reduce stress, increases understanding, and helps clients feel more in control . By combining emotions vocabulary, visual cues, movement. "GO Emotions!" becomes a culturally aware resource counselors can use to support clients who learn best through visuals and experimental activities. The goal is for clients not only to play the game but to genuinely learn from it.
