Zaika ("the app", "we", "us") is an offline recipe app. This policy explains how the app handles your information. In short: Zaika does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data.
Zaika does not require you to create an account or sign in. We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, location, or any other personal information. We do not collect any data about you.
All recipe content is bundled with the app and stored in a local database on your device. Searching and browsing recipes happens entirely on your device. The app does not send your searches, the recipes you view, or any usage information to us or to any third party.
We want to be explicit. Zaika does not collect, store, or transmit:
Personal or contact information
Account or login credentials
Location data
Usage analytics, behavioral tracking, or advertising identifiers
Crash or diagnostic reports
Any content you create, type, or upload (the app does not request or accept user-generated content)
Zaika offers an optional voice search feature. If you choose to use it, the app requests permission to use your device's microphone solely to capture your spoken search query.
The microphone is used only while you are actively using voice search, and never in the background.
Voice recognition is performed by your device's built-in speech-recognition service (provided by your operating system, e.g. Google or Apple). Your spoken audio may therefore be processed by that service according to your device manufacturer's / OS provider's privacy policy — this is outside Zaika's control. Zaika itself does not record, store, or transmit your audio.
The resulting text is used only to perform a local recipe search and is not saved or shared.
You can decline or revoke the microphone permission at any time in your device settings; the rest of the app continues to work normally via text search.
Some recipes may include links to external content, such as cooking videos. If you tap such a link, it opens in your device's browser or the relevant external app. Once you leave Zaika, the privacy practices of that external website or service apply, not ours. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.
The app may use internet access only to open external recipe links you tap (see above) and to load fonts/media. It does not transmit any personal or usage data to our servers — in fact, Zaika has no servers and operates without any backend.
Zaika does not collect personal information from anyone, including children. The app is safe to use by all ages from a data-privacy standpoint.
Because Zaika stores all data locally on your device and collects nothing, there is no personal data held by us that could be lost, stolen, or misused. Any app data remains on your device and is removed if you uninstall the app.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example to reflect new app features. Any changes will be posted with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the revised policy.
