Zadelle's is named after the mother of the business' owner. She was a generous lady always helping and giving to her neighbours, friends, and to those she hardly knew well. Word of her generosity was well known, and she always had a spirit of compassion where she would listen well to others as they discussed their daily adventures.
In her latter years, Zadelle developed Alzheimer's Disease, a debilitating illness that affects the minds of those who have it, and their supporting family groups. Her son Francis, who resides overseas, intends to keep her legacy in Barbados thriving and growing. The intent is to show that there is still generosity and graciousness in Barbados and in particular within the business community.
Though Zadelle's is a for profit entity, it has a mission of being able to give to the Barbados Alzheimer's Association on an annual basis. Thereby "adopting" the organization as their charity of choice. Alzheimer's affects people of all walks of life in Barbados, and someone either knows or is more directly impacted by close ones who have been impacted by this dreadful illness. At Zadelle's, we want to be a resource.
It is our intent to develop the business to the stage, where we can tangibly and significantly offer assistance on an annual basis to the Barbados Alzheimer's Association. We believe that a little support goes a long way and will assist them in the further research of the illness and the training of care givers and in time medical personnel who can assist in making the lives of those suffering from it more bearable while they are alive.
There is no known cure. It does not restrict itself to the elderly. In some families, more than one person is impacted by the illness.
Join us today in our effort to be of assistance by supporting our business and therefore helping those in need. We are our brother's keeper.
