Zack Grant
I am a postdoctoral researcher at the Nuffield Politics Research Centre at the University of Oxford.
I am interested in understanding why people think the way they do about inequality, the welfare state, immigration, the environment, and ‘wokeness’ in Britain and other advanced democracies. I do this by analysing quantitative survey and contextual data, as well as through the use of experiments.
I am particularly interested in understanding voter reactions to four ongoing trends in western societies:
Rising levels of immigration and ethnic diversity.
The intensification of climate change and the rising costs of environmentalist policy.
Ageing societies and the rise of intergenerational inequality.
The development of technology and the roll-out of AI in the job market.
My work has been published in the academic journals Comparative Political Studies, Party Politics, West European Politics, and the British Journal of Political Science.
