Development Time: January 2023 - April 2023 (4 Months)
The Greatest Game Ever was a Twine Game work on over the course of 4 months as an assignment. It was a project focusing on making branching paths and choices for your narrative. The game is about a player finding a game on sale that they've never heard of before, and after playing it, they begin to have an odd encounter with one of the characters in the game.
The project was initially map out in Miro in order to plan out the narrative structure. Alongside it, a series of documents were created to help form the story bible for the game. Forming this story bible was crucial for the story progression and help to set a baseline of what the story would be. This was incredibly useful for my development as a narrative designer and finding out the importance of good planning positively impacted the projects development. It was also good for me finding out what I wanted for the themes of the game and carrying them throughout a project, the themes I was going for were of not getting too lost in large issues letting them consume your life, while also saying not to be to ignore these issues and act as if they don't exist. I believe the story bible really helped to solidify these themes. Below is the story bible and a playable build of the game.
