About Me

I am Zachery Garner a Puppeteer, Builder, and Designer

     I have performed, built and designed puppets for What If Puppets, Netflix, Monkey Boys Productions, and Simple Mischief.

I stared making puppets when I was 6, making them out of anything I could get my hands on, jackets, sofa cushions, grocery story bag, even umbrellas, nothing in my house was safe when I wanted to make a new puppet. As I learned more about puppet building I learned what makes a good design and how to transform that design from 2D to 3D. 

Now performing came a little later in my life. My first role was as Snow White, in Snow white and the Seven Dwarves at The Mesner Puppet Theater when I was 9 years old. The look on peoples faces when they saw me come from behind the curtain was priceless. Snow White was the first of many shows that I would perform with the theater threw out the years. I got to perform in live shows, fundraisers, and videos. 

In 2021 Mesner launched a web series called "In The Workshop" a series created for schools and online learning to teach emotional skills. 

Also in 2021 I was fortunate enough to be part of the Jim Henson Company's Puppeteer Workshop, where I got to learn form Henson Puppeteers Donna Kimble, and Kevin Clash. We were also taught Improv by Patrick Bristow and Daniele Gaither.
