Zachary James Grant, PhD

Zachary J. Grant is an applied and computational mathematician specializing in numerical methods for differential equations and scientific computing. His research focuses on the development and analysis of high-order time-stepping methods, including strong stability preserving (SSP) Runge–Kutta schemes, with applications in computational fluid dynamics and large-scale simulations. He earned his Ph.D. in Computational Science and Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth and was the Alston S. Householder Fellow at Oak Ridge National Laboratory from 2018-2022. His work aims to design efficient, stable algorithms for accurately simulating complex physical systems on modern computing architectures.  He is currently focusing his efforts to transition back to the world of academia.
