If there was one word to describe me as a student, it would be student athlete. I have participated in sports every single year of high school starting off with football. I saw my first varsity minutes as a sophomore and never looked back starting the rest of that season as a linebacker and won the 2A state championship. I was named a team captain as a junior and senior. Then to basketball where I was a part of a state run where I put in serious minutes as a sophomore and started my junior year. The last sport was baseball where I started second base as a freshman and shortly moved to catcher for the rest of my career. I also participated in some clubs such as Stuco where I was the treasurer and even CLASS leadership which is an organization that teaches us to be leaders. Other clubs that I have been a part of are NHS, SADD, and FBLA. These sports and clubs have helped sharpen my leadership qualities and have kept me busy and involved through high school
When I am asked to talk about myself the first thing that comes to my mind is my family. I have four brothers and one sister. If I had a special bond with one of them it would be my sister because I will just mess around with her, and she will put up with it ,and as she is getting older, is starting to dish it back to me a little more. Two of my brothers are older than me, two are younger, and my sister is the youngest. That puts me right in the middle of everything. If someone asked me when I was younger if I wanted to be the youngest, I would have said heck no because I was forced to play with my older brothers, and my parents were always paying attention to the younger ones. Every night, I would play with my older brother, and I would end up running inside crying to my parents to have them tell me to man up and toss back out there to play with. Now, I am glad I am the middle child because it gave me my competitive and hardworking drive.
After high school, I thought that I would just go to Kansas State and join a fraternity because that’s what everyone in my family has done, always going to Kansas State football games seeing everyone there. It took a lot of time to make the decision, but I am going to step out of my comfort zone and attend Baker University to major in exercise science. I chose this college because it gave me the best opportunity to continue to play football. I really did not plan on going to this college until they gave me the opportunity to play football. I am excited for the opportunity and cannot wait to meet many new people and create a whole new family of brothers.
After college, I hope to become a physical therapist and work with people to try to get them back into sports as quickly and safely as possible. I want this as my career because I have torn my ACL and have been through the process of rehab trying to get better. It was a very hard rehab, and I want to help kids get back even quicker than I am. I have met many people through my rehab process that I would love to work with. To make this career path come true I hope to enter PT school after college and have many job shadows with Kurt Sudbeck to help prepare me.
