Dr Yitian Zhao

Dr Yitian Zhao is currently the director and professor of Lab of Intelligent Medical Imaging (iMED) at Institute of Biomedical Engineering, Ningbo Institute of Materials Technology and Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences. His research expertise is ophthalmic medical image processig, vessel structure analysis, eye and brain joint computing. In particular, he is interested in understanding the relation between retinal vascular changes and a wide spectrum of eye / brain diseases (e.g. diabetic retinopathy, malaria retinopathy, tumors, Alzheimer's disease). He also has a contract of honorary lecturer with the Department of Eye and Vision Science, University of Liverpool. He received his BEng, MSc in 2008 and 2009 in UK, respectively. He finished his PhD degree in 3D Image Analysis from Department of Computer Science at Aberystwyth University in 2013. Previously, he was a lecturer at the Beijing Institute of Technology from 2015 to 2017, and worked as a postdoctoral and lecturer in the Department of Eye and Vision Science at University of Liverpool since 2013 to 2015. He is also served as Guest Ediotr of IEEE Trans Med. Imaging, Associate Editor of Frontiers in Medicine (speciality with opthalmology), Area Chair of MICCAI (2021), Committee Associate Member of IEEE BISP (2021-2022), editorial board member (speciality with opthalmology) for Scientific Reports (2017-today), Program Co-Chair of ICIMH (2021) and VSIP (2021), Program Committee of AAAI (2021), MICCAI workshop OMIA (2017-today), MIUA (2019), MICAD (2021) and etc.
