張元嚴現為國立臺中科技大學資訊工程系助理教授。於 2022 年取得國立臺灣大學生醫電子與資訊學研究所博士學位。
主要研究領域為醫學影像處理、深度學習應用、知識蒸餾、內視鏡電腦視覺以及醫療領域之基礎模型。
