If you want the best sleep headphones for gaming and active listening while moving, choose YY KATTY Sports Headband Headphones; if you need a weighted eye mask to block out light and soothe anxiety before bed, choose Joythink Weighted Eye Masks. These two products solve completely different problems, yet they often get confused because both offer wireless audio in a soft head-worn package. One is designed to stay secure during movement and side-sleeping with ultra-thin speakers, while the other focuses on deep pressure therapy and total darkness using a silk design. I have analyzed the specifications of both devices to help you decide which one actually fits your nightly routine or gaming setup without forcing a choice that doesn't make sense.
• YY KATTY Sports Headband Headphones: Its biggest strength is the ultra-thin 0.25-inch profile that allows for zero ear pressure during side sleeping, making it ideal for gamers who need to lie down comfortably; its trade-off is that it lacks blackout capabilities and offers no weighted sensation for anxiety relief. This pick is for athletes, side sleepers, and anyone needing a washable, sweat-resistant audio band.
• This pick is for those struggling with insomnia, light sensitivity, or stress who want to drift off with white noise.
The YY KATTY Sports Headband Headphones are engineered for people who refuse to compromise on audio quality while maintaining physical comfort. In the world of sleep technology, this is exceptionally slim. Most traditional sleep headphones or even bulkier headbands create pressure points against the ear when you roll over onto your side. This specific design places the center location of the device module to prevent that pressure, meaning you can sleep on your side without feeling like something is digging into your face.
For gamers, this is a critical distinction. Many players struggle to find the right balance between immersion and physical comfort after long sessions. If you play video games late at night and fall asleep with the console or PC still running, the thin profile ensures you won't wake up with a sore jaw or ear from a bulky headset. The product description highlights its suitability for "side sleepers," confirming that the flat headphone speakers are meant to be worn directly against the pillow without distortion. It effectively reduces background noise without the discomfort of falling-out earplugs, offering a middle ground between silence and ambient awareness.

The versatility extends beyond the bedroom. The inclusion of a microphone and Bluetooth 5.0 technology makes this a dual-purpose tool for sports and daily life. You can wear it while jogging, doing yoga, or working out in the gym, as the special fabric compresses on pressure to protect your ears while allowing great breathability. It keeps sweat and unkempt hair away from your ears, a common annoyance during intense workouts. However, you must remove the device module before washing the headband, so it requires a bit of maintenance care. If you are looking for a kids' headset for gaming or a solution for college students sharing dorms where space and comfort are premium, this thin, washable band is likely the better fit than a heavy, non-washable mask.
The Joythink Weighted Eye Masks cater to a very specific physiological need: the desire for deep pressure stimulation to induce calm. This weight is not accidental; it provides a gentle, soothing sensation that helps ease eye fatigue and promotes relaxation. For individuals suffering from insomnia or high stress levels, this added weight mimics the feeling of a weighted blanket, helping the body feel grounded and ready for sleep.
The material composition sets this apart significantly. Constructed from silk, the mask features a soft, smooth, skin-friendly, and breathable fabric. Silk is naturally temperature-regulating and hypoallergenic, making it an excellent choice for sensitive skin or those who tend to run hot at night. The ergonomic design conforms to the curves of your face, ensuring a snug fit that blocks out light completely—a feature essential for shift workers or anyone trying to sleep during the day. The adjustable magic tape headband ensures a custom fit for most head circumferences, though the overall structure is clearly intended for stationary rest rather than active movement.
Audio integration here serves a secondary purpose to the relaxation aspect. While it includes Bluetooth 5.3 technology for stable connections and HD sound, the primary goal is to play white noise, meditation music, or light tunes to aid the falling-asleep process. The 16-hour battery life is a standout specification, allowing for extended use across multiple nights or long travel days without frequent recharging. It also features a built-in microphone for hands-free calls, making it versatile for someone who needs to take a call while winding down. However, the weight and silk material make it less practical for high-intensity activities like running or gym sessions where sweat and impact are concerns. It is a lifestyle accessory designed for the transition from wakefulness to sleep, not for staying awake and active.
• Best for side sleeping comfort → YY KATTY Sports Headband Headphones, thanks to its 0.25-inch ultra-thin profile that eliminates ear pressure.
• Best for active lifestyles and workouts → YY KATTY Sports Headband Headphones, designed with sweat-resistant fabric and a secure fit for yoga and jogging.
• Best for total light blockage → Joythink Weighted Eye Masks, featuring a solid silk construction that creates a pitch-black environment.
• Best for battery longevity → Joythink Weighted Eye Masks, offering up to 16 hours of playback compared to the 10 hours of the YY KATTY.
• Best for connectivity speed → Joythink Weighted Eye Masks, equipped with the newer Bluetooth 5.3 standard for quicker pairing and stability.
• Best for easy cleaning → Both require removing the electronics, but the YY KATTY is made of specialized fabric for sport, while the Joythink uses delicate silk that needs gentle handling.
• Best for gaming posture → YY KATTY Sports Headband Headphones, as the lightweight design allows you to lie flat without neck strain from heavy accessories.
In my opinion, if you are specifically looking for the best sleep headphones for gaming, the YY KATTY Sports Headband Headphones is the superior choice. The ability to lie on your side without pressing a heavy object against your face is crucial for long gaming sessions that bleed into sleep. The ultra-thin design prioritizes the physical experience of wearing audio gear while unconscious, which is exactly what a gamer needs to avoid waking up with facial pain. While the Joythink mask is a wonderful tool for relaxation and blocking out light, its weight and silk material make it too cumbersome for the dynamic needs of a gamer who might need to adjust positions frequently. I would buy the YY KATTY because it solves the immediate problem of physical discomfort while delivering the audio performance needed for immersive gameplay.
