In Sept 2022, a few teachers got together with the purpose of giving an enriched ensemble experience to middle years students in Saskatoon. We began with 8 students, and have grown to two bands with 90 students. We give a concert each fall and spring which are open to the public, and take the students on a trip around March annually.
We are thankful to Shannon Koski and Grace Westminster Church for hosting our weekly rehearsals in their facility, and the Saskatoon Brass Bands for sharing their percussion equipment. We appreciate all the local band teachers and music instructors who recommended musicians to YXE Winds.
Thank you St. Joseph High School Shawn Bzdel for their support of our December Concert. What a treat to have so much support and physical help with the equipment - we appreciate it so very much.
Thank you University Of Saskatchewan and Dr. Glen Gillis for their support of our April Concert. Congratuations on a terrific wind orchesta concert and best wishes in your retirement.
