本研究室著重於創新中風復健療法之開發與成效驗證(如:動作觀察治療、鏡像治療、機器輔助治療等)，並結合臨床與職能評估、客觀生理監測工具、腦影像等探討腦部損傷個案之動作與功能復原、動作控制、及腦部神經活動機制，提供科學化實證。

近期研究主題為探討一套多模組中風上肢動作復健系統之介入成效與機制，包含：數位化鏡像治療與動作觀察治療；此外，也正在發展虛擬實境式鏡像手系統，欲提供多樣性的中風科技復健介入。

Dr. Yu-Wei Hsieh’s primary research interests include the areas of stroke neurorehabilitation and predictive models of rehabilitation outcomes. The research topics include (1) development and validation of action observation therapy and mirror therapy, (2) examination of prediction models for stroke rehabilitation by using either traditional regression analyses or machine learning models, and (3) investigation of underlying neural mechanisms of rehabilitation interventions by using MEG or EEG. Recent research focuses on investigating the efficacy of a digital multi-mode stroke rehabilitation system of arm and hand. This system could provide both digital mirror therapy and action observation therapy for stroke individuals. Ongoing research project aims to develop and validate a virtual reality-based mirror hand system to provide technology-based stroke rehabilitation.
