RESEARCH EXPERIENCE
Research Projects
Unbalanced Clusters in Multilevel Modeling (Adviser: Dr. Hye Won Suk), Feb. 2019 – Present
• Literature review.
• Tested various distributions for generating unbalanced cluster sizes.
• Set the ranges of parameters by conducting prior simulation using R.
• Wrote R-code for main simulation (balanced and unbalanced data generation, MLM model specification, making functions for calculating accuracy indexes, catching errors, plotting results).
• Presented the results as a poster at a conference in Korea.
Behavioral Profiles on Social Orientation or Cognitive Style (PI: Dr. Jinkyung Na), Dec. 2018 – Oct. 2019
• Conducted LPA analysis using Mplus to identify latent profiles in the first and the revised manuscript.
• Arranged the results to create graphs and tables used in the paper.
Perspective Taking in Conflict Contexts (Adviser: Dr. Jinkyung Na), June 2017 – Nov. 2019
• Conducted survey studies to examine the moderation of issue importance on the effect of perspective taking (PT) and conducted moderated mediation analysis using SPSS process macro to reveal the underlying mechanism.
• Executed a lab experiment (writing IRB document, performing pre-test, structuring a script, recruiting & training confederates, organizing schedule) and analyzed the data to clarify the causal relationship of the effect of PT.
• Conducted internal meta-analysis using R to deal with inconsistent results across studies.
• Submitted a manuscript in English as first author and presented the results as posters at conferences in the US and France.
Retrospective Time Perception and Happiness (Adviser: Dr. Jinkyung Na), Nov. 2016 – Aug. 2018
• Collected data using experience sampling method (ESM) and performed multilevel analysis using HLM to examine the relation between daily happiness and daily perceived time flow.
• Executed an online experiment to verify the relation between the manipulated happiness and the time flow (preparing clips for manipulation) and conducted mediation analysis using SPSS process macro.
• Published the results in a Korean journal as the first author and presented the results at a conference in Korea.
