Yvonne Ochieng is a Clinical psychology scientist pursuing her PhD at Duke University. Her work centers on the emotional well-being of adolescents living with chronic illness and the development of equitable, community-grounded psychosocial interventions. Yvonne’s teaching and mentorship reflect her commitment to accessibility, reflective practice, and student growth, and she has supported undergraduates and graduate students through coursework, research training, and individualized guidance. Her research integrates qualitative methods, human-centered design, and global mental health frameworks to co-create support programs with youth, caregivers, healthcare providers, and community partners in Kenya. Across her scholarship, teaching, and service, she is dedicated to improving youth mental health care in resource-limited settings and to building research mentorship pathways for students from historically underrepresented backgrounds.
