Wednesday, February 25th

Volunteers will learn how to handle historical data from Africa, and will help with both reading/cataloguing weather data for the continent as well as identifying leaf/flower/fruiting events from historical photographs in Ghana, in order to assist with global research and strengthen their skills as global citizens.

Volunteers will meet for the first time as a group to share ideas for Staunton YVC, including scheduling, possible projects, fundraising ideas, flyer-making, and more. We will also briefly discuss recruitment and summer programming.
Tuesday, March 3rd

Volunteers will learn and play various card games and board games with residents at a local Senior Living facility.
Wednesday, March 4th
6:30-7:30p, Staunton
Volunteers will create google docs of images, print, and assemble coloring books for Project Grows to use during their summer camps and other programming.

Volunteers will look at photos of animals on the shelter's website and create various forms of art, using paint markers, watercolor, colored pencils, markers, stickers, gems, googly eyes, and more.
Saturday, March 7th
3:00-4:00p, Waynesboro
Volunteers will help re-set the Blue Ridge Children's Museum's Natural Playground by completing tasks such as picking up trash, moving logs and rocks, washing chalkboards, and more.

Volunteers will create seed balls out of mud and a variety of seeds, will bag them, and will brainstorm places to host them for anyone to receive.
Wednesday, March 11th

Volunteers will paint rocks, and/or assemble rocks with worry stone poems and ribbon to fill a basket for New Directions Center, to boost positivity and mental health.

Volunteers will use beads, string, and spikes to create unique beaded accent pieces for potted plants in a local Senior center, to boost positivity and mental health.
Wednesday, March 25th

Volunteers will be given materials and picture instructions, then plenty of time to create craft examples to be used by the Blue Ridge Children's Museum at their weekly crafting table.

Volunteers will have the opportunity to be part of the greater planning for organizing youth environmental cleanups in Staunton and the surrounding areas, including scheduling, brainstorming areas, communications, flyer making, and more.
Volunteers will have the opportunity to be part of the greater YVC Staunton planning (scheduling, event planning, marketing, photo editing, etc) in this drop-in series.
