Thursday, January 8th

Volunteers will assist the Blue Ridge Children's Museum with their Natural Playground by re-setting rocks and logs, picking up trash, cleaning chalk boards, and any other duties as needed.

Volunteers will have the opportunity to be part of the greater YVC Staunton planning (scheduling, event planning, marketing, photo editing, etc) in this drop-in series. Great for any volunteer who wants to be part of or present during the planning of February projects and beyond.

Volunteers will have the opportunity to be part of the greater planning for organizing youth environmental cleanups in Staunton and the surrounding areas, including scheduling, brainstorming areas, communications, flyer making, and more.

Volunteers will take stock of materials, determine how to assemble the kits, assemble the kits, and (as time allows) write notes to go inside of the kits, which will be donated to the local Valley Mission for those experiencing homelessness.

Volunteers will create cards, art, and kind messages for the Valley Program for Aging Services to include in their Sunshine Drive for Older Adults comfort boxes.

Volunteers will learn how to create durable beaded bracelets, then will be given time and materials to create bracelets to be donated to the local Cinderella Project for teens to choose for the upcoming Prom season.

Volunteers will create biodegradeable birdfeeders out of recycled materials, peanut butter, and birdseed, to be either taken home and hung or to be donated to another family to hang in their yard.
Wednesday, January 28th
6:30-8:00pm, Staunton
Volunteers will first learn how to crochet using a crochet hook and/or loom, then will be given time (and materials to take home) to crochet a scarf to be donated to the Valley Mission for those experiencing homelessness.
