Harrisburg Mental Health Day, more than 100 students from 18 youth-serving organizations and schools from 9 counties across Pennsylvania met with more than 25 legislators to advocate for excused mental health days. Organized through the PA Youth Advocacy Network, YMHA had the opportunity to meet with Representative Mark Rozzi to raise awareness about their initiative. YMHA joined Senator Judy Schwank and Representative Johanny Cepeda-Freytiz on the Pennsylvania state capital stairs along with other students to further support that mental health issues should be considered excused absences.
Berks County Commissioner's Meeting YMHA ambassadors met with the Office of Commissioners in Berks County and had their proclamation signed, which raised awareness for teens struggling with mental health issues. Proclamations were written by YMHA with support from the PA Youth Advocacy Network.
