Youth Mental Health Ambassadors are using the arts to advocate!
In collaboration with the Teen Suidice Prevention Initiative of Yocum Institute, Youth Mental Health Ambassadors provided a safe place for the community to share their perspective on mental health issues youth endure.Â
"Mixed with moments of humor, Between Apt. 2B and the End Zone is a blunt look at teen suicide that shares painful stories of conflict and can be dark and difficult but ultimately offers an uplifting message of compassion and hope and a celebration of the human spirit. The goal of he show is to: start the conversation, within your community and work to dispel the myth that talking about the subject is negative when, in fact, the opposite is true."
Following the performance, YMHA hosted a talk-back discussion, to provide the audience with the specific resources available to the audience within their community, as well as facilitated peer-to-peer conversation between the actors and the audience.
