About Me

Hi, I am Yuyang Pu. I am a Teaching Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of Pittsburgh.

My research focuses on information manipulation and its impacts on public opinion and political behavior. My studies explore how authoritarian governments use information manipulation to consolidate their rule domestically and win support internationally, as well as how citizens can resist it.

My teaching expertise encompasses a wide range of introductory courses, including International Relations, Comparative Politics, American Politics, and Research Methods. Additionally, I have taught upper-level courses such as Chinese Politics and Propaganda and Censorship. Before joining the University of Pittsburgh, I taught at the University of Houston and Siena College.

I received a Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Houston in 2022, an M.A. in Political Science from Central Michigan University in 2014, and a B.A. in Law from Southwest University of Political Science and Law in 2011.
