Hello, World! I am Yuyang Pu. I am a Teaching Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of Pittsburgh.
My research lies at the intersection of political psychology and political communication. Using experimental methods, I examine how information shapes public opinion and political behavior, as well as how individuals can resist information manipulation. I study these processes primarily in authoritarian contexts, with a particular focus on China.
My teaching expertise encompasses a wide range of introductory courses, including International Relations, Comparative Politics, American Politics, and Research Methods. Additionally, I have taught upper-level courses such as Chinese Politics and Propaganda and Censorship. Before joining the University of Pittsburgh, I taught at the University of Houston and Siena College.
I received a Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Houston in 2022, an M.A. in Political Science from Central Michigan University in 2014, and a B.A. in Law from Southwest University of Political Science and Law in 2011.Â
