Dr. Zhou is a tenure-track Assistant Professor in the J. Mike Walker ’66 Department of Mechanical Engineering at Texas A&M University. The Zhou Lab studies how mechanical forces influence the development, function, adaptation, and regeneration of biological tissues, with a particular focus on the musculoskeletal system.
The lab integrates biomechanics, mechanobiology, tissue regeneration, computational modeling, artificial intelligence, and digital twin technologies to develop predictive models that improve understanding of disease progression, optimize orthopedic surgery and musculoskeletal treatments, and advance precision medicine.
Current research focuses on the mechanobiology of mineralized tissues, musculoskeletal tissue regeneration, patient-specific orthopedic implant design, computational modeling of tissue adaptation, and data-driven approaches for personalized surgical planning and treatment.
