[Project 1]
[The Impact of Children's Gender on Parental Labor Supply]
[Work in Progress]
We utilize U.S. Census data from IPUMS USA and find that having a girl as the first child increases the labor force participation rate for both mothers and fathers. Similarly, we observe a comparable pattern regarding the effects of the proportion of daughters among all children. Utilizing the Time Use Survey data, we identify that the primary drivers are the home production channel, with the human capital production channel, differential costs, and bargaining power exerting partial effects.

[Assessing the impact of the US Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative on Carbon Leakage]
[ Work in Progress ]
We utilize the Difference-in-Difference method to evaluate the impact of the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI) on carbon dioxide emissions within regulated and neighboring states by utilizing state-level and plant-level generation and consumption data from the Energy Information Administration (EIA). We find significant empirical evidence of carbon leakage at the power plant level, indicating that reductions in emissions in regulated states may be counterbalanced by increased emissions in neighboring states.
