About us

Yuva Arena Cukerala is a theatre club of Central University of Kerala affiliated with the Kerala state youth welfare board. The club was formed on 31.07.2019 in association with the formations of companion arts clubs at Central University of Kerala in a program called "Sanskrithi". The students of the university are the members of the club, eventhough a membership program is not established. But an executive council was formulated in the first general body meeting held on the club formation day.

The club has so far presented four dramas namely Dragons (July 2019), Abhisarika (December 2019), The Roots (January 2020) and Mi Amor (April 2020). Abhisarika is a one act play produced by Central University of Kerala which had won second prize in national level inter-university youth festival as well as in south-zone inter-university youth festival. The play had also won first prize of ₹ 25,000/-in Kasaragod district at Kerala State Youth-welfare board's amature drama competition and had also competed at state level representing the district. Dragons and The Roots are short plays produced by the university itself where as Mi Amor is a solo drama created for competing in Loka Nataka Varthakal's (a registered whatsapp group of worldwide Malayali drama artists) solo drama competition during COVID lock down time.
