Yushan is a PhD student at UNC–Chapel Hill studying the protective factors that support children and adolescents living in stepfamilies. Yushan works with Dr. Todd Jensen in the Thriving Through Family Transitions (THRIFT) Research Lab. Her work takes a cross-cultural perspective, with a particular focus on youths in China and the US. This research interest is inspired by her childhood experience growing up in a stepfamily in China. Yushan currently lead the Stepfamily Reading Club, where graduate students meet biweekly to discuss recent stepfamily research. Please feel free to reach out if you are interested in joining the Stepfamily Reading Club or collaborating :) Before commencing her Ph.D., Yushan volunteered with the Chinese Parents Association for the Disabled, providing services to Chinese American children with developmental disabilities.
