In collaboration with my friend Xinyu Wang, we translated and published a Chinese edition of the Geo Detectives series, originally written by Anita Ganeri and Chris Oxlade. I worked on two books: Volcanoes & Earthquakes and Wild Weather. These books have been well-received for their engaging, hands-on experiments that make learning geology fun and accessible for kids.
In 2023, I presented the preliminary results of my Tongan attenuation tomography project during the SZ4Grads webinar series. This outreach opportunity allowed me to share my research with a broader audience and connect with early-career geoscientists across the subduction zone community.
In 2024, I handcrafted a demo model of an Ocean Bottom Seismometer (OBS) and showcased it at the MSU Earth and Environmental Sciences Symposium. The exhibit provided students with a hands-on experience—allowing them to connect cables and simulate the deployment process of real OBS instruments.
I serve as an Early Career Subcommittee member (2025-2026) for the AGU Seismology Section. My work focuses on supporting the Social Media and Outreach group, assisting the virtual workshops and annual Meeting Events.
SZ4Grads is a community under SZ4D—a collaborative, interdisciplinary, and intercultural network for graduate students and recent graduates studying subduction zone processes.
I serve on the SZ4Grads Executive Committee (2023–2025). In addition to organizing student meetups at major conferences, my primary role is to coordinate and host the SZ4Grads webinar series. You can check out our recorded webinars here.
