Yun Joo An (안연주)

Welcome! My name is Yun Joo, and I am a Finance PhD candidate (ABD) at the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University.

My research interests are asset pricing, macro-finance, and real estate. In my job market paper, I study how municipal bonds are exposed to local house price changes through the property tax channel.

I hold B.A and M.A. in Economics at Yonsei University. I am a co-host of Yonsei University Alumni Finance Seminar. Please reach out to me if you would like to bring new work to our seminar.

Recent Updates:

Sep 2025: I presented my JMP "Tax Revenue Sensitivity and Bond Valuation" at the NFA PhD Session.
June 2025: I presented my JMP "Tax Revenue Sensitivity and Bond Valuation" at the LBS Transatlantic Doctoral Conference.
May 2025: I successfully passed the dissertation proposal at the Finance department at Indiana University.
Feb 2025: We hosted the 1st Yonsei University Alumni Finance Seminar (co-host: Jewon Shin). Program is available here.
Jan 2025: A new paper "Strategic Liability Management: Lessons from Past Inflation" is now available at SSRN.
Jan 2025: A new version of the paper "The Relative Price Premium" is now available at SSRN. This is joint work with Fotis Grigoris, Christian Heyerdahl-Larsen, and Preetesh Kantak.

About myself:

I am born and raised in Seoul and earned my master’s and bachelor’s in Economics at Yonsei University. I traveled to many places in Europe, thanks to living in London for three years when I was a kid. These days, I enjoy living in the U.S. more than ever. On Thanksgiving and Christmas, I visit my family in Washington D.C.
