British Council in Ukraine and Microsoft Ukraine organised a conference for foreign language teachers in general education and secondary specialised educational institutions entitled ‘Teaching English with Technology’. I took part and received the certificate of attendance.
The aim of the event was to promote innovative technologies and interactive learning. As part of the conference, Nicki Hockly, a specialist from the UK, held a webinar on the use of social networks in teaching, and creative workshops were held on the use of innovative technologies in the classroom.
The conference took place on 11 October 2013 in Kyiv at the Microsoft Ukraine office.
On 8 November 2013, I participated in the International Training Seminar for Scientific and Pedagogical Workers of Higher Educational Institutions ‘Educational Initiatives of Teachers’ organised by Microsoft Ukraine, which was held at the B. Grinchenko University of Kyiv.
I earned the title of Microsoft Faculty Fellow and received a certificate of completion.
I also received a signature for e-mails and a special digital badge in my profile on the Microsoft educational network ‘Partnership in Learning.’
The seminar was designed to enable teachers to:
• see and understand the possibilities of technology for improving the learning process.
• familiarise themselves with new educational technologies.
• obtain a set of resources available to educators regarding technology.
• familiarise themselves with and work with the TPACK platform, the CLD21 (21st Century Learning Framework) structure and their assessment tools.
• see the possibility of changes in their own teaching process through the knowledge gained at the seminar.
• Help their colleagues (and students) apply technology in their educational work.
• Collaborate with like-minded educators through the Partnership in Learning educational network and the Educational Initiatives website.
