About me

I am a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Before this, I earned my Ph.D. in Psychology at the University of Illinois in 2025 under the mentorship of Dr. Cynthia Fisher. 

My research explores how young children acquire language, especially how they learn syntactic regularities and draw on recent linguistic experiences to learn new words. I'm also interested in how lexical, syntactic, and event knowledge shape sentence processing in young children.

Teaching is one of the parts of the job I'm really passionate about. I enjoy breaking a complex theory down into pieces that make sense, and showing students why developmental research is so fascinating.

Outside of teaching and research, I'm usually home with my cat Lola, a book in hand, a podcast on, or something playing in the background. I also like a quiet walk in nature, and relaxed time with family and friends.
