I am Yuki Sahashi, an early career AI researcher, board-certified cardiologist (electrophysiology, cardiac imaging), and computer scientist with a broad background in research that includes computer vision, multi-modal deep learning models, and epidemiology.
My career objective is to become an independent investigator specializing in the integration of advanced computational techniques with cardiology to improve patient outcomes.
Applying AI to echocardiography datasets, I developed algorithms for automated echocardiogram measurement and for incidentally detecting often-overlooked diseases. In addition, I focused on unique areas such as research exploring the relationships between cardiovascular modalities and applying high-performance video completion algorithms, which have already been developed, to echocardiography.

I have utilized large datasets to explore cardiovascular health, including analyzing the largest epidemiological dataset to demonstrate the impact of human behavior pattern on mortality. In 2022, I analyzed the Japanese national registry data in the field of cardiology to highlight the benefits of cardiovascular procedures which gained many attentions in media. (Dr. Goto Lab in YCU-HDS)
As a board-certificated cardiology physician, I have focused on addressing clinical questions arising from daily practice, particularly in coronary interventional treatments and arrhythmia management, providing evidence-based answers that improve patient care and outcomes.
Published some original articles and case reports.
Since graduating from Gifu University in 2014, I have worked as a cardiologist with over 10 years of experience, specializing primarily in arrhythmia (including ICD, catheter ablation, etc.) and CCU (critical care unit). My career as a cardiologist began at Gifu University Hospital in 2016. Subsequently, I became board-certified in general internal medicine, cardiology, and electrophysiology.
My clinical experience includes:
Catheter Ablations: Served as the primary operator for catheter ablation procedures for atrial fibrillation/atrial tachycardia and other arrhythmias (supraventricular tachycardia and ventricular tachycardia) between April 2017 and September 2023 at both Gifu University Hospital and Gifu Heart Center.
Cardiac Implantable Electric Devices (CIEDs) Implantations: Served as the primary operator for CIED implantation procedures (Pacemaker, ICD, CRT, S-ICD) between April 2017 and April 2022 at both Gifu University Hospital and Gifu Heart Center.
Critival Care Unit. Managing severely-ill patients due to cardiogenic shock, acute myocardial infarction, arrhythmia and myocarditis etc. Hugh experience for managing ECMO, IABP, Impella, etc between April 2018 and April 2023 at both Gifu University Hospital and Gifu Heart Center
