Yuhao Dai
Hello, welcome to my website! I am Yuhao and I am a second-year graduate student in the Department of Linguistics at Georgetown. My current advisor is Paul Portner. I am mostly interested in semantics and syntax and my current languages of focus include Lhasa Tibetan (ལྷ་སའི་སྐད) and my native language Liyang Wu Chinese.
I mostly work on puzzles in intenstional semantics (especially those related to modality, tense, aspect, aktionsart, and their interactions), which makes Lhasa Tibetan an optimal language for my academic inquiries! Right now I am working on the tense-aspect system in Lhasa dialect. One of my current projects in progress is on the semantics of two series of Lhasa Tibetan perfect morphemes. For Liyang Wu Chinese, I am currently starting a project on its rich inventory of biased question particles and their interactions with other discourse markers.
