Yue Wang

I am currently an Associate Research Scientist at the Irving Institute for Cancer Dynamics and the Department of Statistics, Columbia University.

During 2021-2023, I was a postdoctoral fellow at the Department of Computational Medicine, University of California Los Angeles, under the supervision of Prof. Tom Chou. During 2018-2021, I was a postdoctoral researcher at the Institut des Hautes Études Scientifiques (IHÉS, Institute for Advanced Scientific Studies) in France, under the supervision of Prof. Mikhail Gromov and Dr. Nadya Morozova. I received a Ph.D. in applied mathematics at the University of Washington in 2018, under the supervision of Prof. Hong Qian (Dissertation: Some Problems in Stochastic Dynamics and Statistical Analysis of Single-Cell Biology of Cancer). I received a B.Sc. in probability at Peking University in 2013.

I apply different mathematical tools (modeling, simulation, algorithm, statistical analysis, theoretical analysis with discrete mathematics, differential equation, and stochastic process) to cancer-related biology, e.g., population dynamics, gene regulation, and developmental biology. I also apply probability, stochastic process, and discrete mathematics to different subjects (reinforcement learning, causal inference, statistical physics, biochemistry, dynamical system, and law).
