Yuan Zhao

I am a Lecturer in Accounting at The University of Queensland. I earned my PhD from the School of Accountancy, Singapore Management University. My research explores how information from nontraditional sources and emerging technologies influence capital markets. I am particularly interested in fact-checking misinformation, social media, and open-source algorithms. Before I started my PhD journey, I earned a B.B.A. in Professional Accountancy from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen. In my spare time, I enjoy cycling followed by a relaxing Zen yoga session.
