Privacy Policy — YouTube Focus Lock
Last updated: June 25, 2026
YouTube Focus Lock is a browser extension that helps you control which YouTube videos and channels you can watch, based on settings you configure yourself.
What this extension does with your data:
To work, YouTube Focus Lock reads certain content from the YouTube pages you visit while the extension is active — specifically, the channel name and link shown on a video page, and the URL of the page you're viewing. This is used only in the moment, to decide whether to allow or block playback according to your own settings (your chosen playlist, your blocked-channel list, and your selected mode).
This extension also stores the settings you configure — your selected playlist ID, your list of blocked channels, your chosen mode, and a small cache of video IDs from your playlist — using your browser's built-in storage. This data is stored only on your own device.
What this extension does not do:
It does not transmit, sell, or share any data to any server, company, or third party. It does not use your data for advertising, analytics, or tracking of any kind. It does not collect personally identifiable information, financial information, health information, authentication credentials, or a history of your browsing activity.
How long data is kept:
Your settings remain stored locally until you change them, clear them using the controls in the extension's popup, or uninstall the extension — at which point the browser removes the stored data.
Changes to this policy:
If this policy changes, the update will be posted on this page with a revised date above.
