I like everything related to galaxies and clusters. My primary goals are to understand the galaxy-halo connection (that is, how galaxies are related to the dark matter halos they reside), and to explain the zoo of galaxies we see across the cosmic epochs.
Currently my group is working on:
Dichotomy of elliptical galaxies
Massive, bulgeless galaxies (MBGs)
Detection and characterization of super-clusters in the HSC survey
Spectroscopic follow up of z>1 clusters detected in the HSC survey
Understanding galaxy evolution in clusters
Application of machine learning in galaxy-halo connection
Formation mechanism of S0 galaxies
Detection of halo assembly bias
Formation and evolution of brightest cluster galaxies (BCGs)
Correlation between spin directions of supermassive black holes and their host galaxies
Initial mass function of elliptical galaxies with JWST and PFS
In the near future, we will further work on
galaxy-halo connection at z>6
Understanding the origin of the star formation main sequence, and quenching of star formation
A census of AGN selected from different wavelengths/techniques
Galactic conformity
"Vast plane of satellites"
Linking proto-clusters to mature clusters
Detection of distant galaxy clusters
Star formation and post-starburst phenomenon in clusters
Buildup of intracluster light (ICL)
Cluster cosmology
