MacOS Gatekeeper Warning Fix

Due to Apple policy, TW/PM packaging for MacOS is troublesome. If you are on MacOS and seeing a Gatekeeper warning when opening up your YTGG game, like DoogyCat, Noob Run, or Talking Malik, do these steps:

1. Open MacOS Finder

2. Navigate to the game executable

3. Right click the executable

4. Click Open, then Open.

5. You're in!

Note for some games:

• Video sensing and loudness blocks will only work in MacOS 12 or later.

• Pointer lock will not work.

• Extremely large games might not work properly.

• If you have the new MacBook Neo, the games might not work properly. We use Windows PCs and Android phones/tablets, so we cannot prove that.

If you have an older Mac device:

• Game might not work properly. For the best experience, MacOS 12 or later is required. MacOS 11 and older cannot handle our modern games, and Talking Wombats will not work on 11-.

Rec Room will be closing down on June 1st 2026 at noon Pacific time.

Over the past decade, Rec Room grew into something amazing, reaching over 150 million players and creators along the way. Players made over half a billion friends on the platform. In total, people all around the world spent a cumulative 68 thousand years in Rec Room. The top UGC rooms saw over 500 years of play time each. That’s a lot of people having a lot of fun.

YouTubeGoogle will be affected. We will lose our room creation platform we have used since 2021. This leaves a big impact on us, and marketing our games through Rec Room Announcements on rec.net and on our followers will no longer be possible. If you could do anything, please save Rec Room and our company.

Starting on April 1st, we will no longer create rooms on Rec Room. If there is a revival of Rec Room, we will switch to that. On June 1st, our profile, rooms, and announcements will no longer be available on Rec Room. We are very devastated this has happened to us.
